According to the declarations of representatives of the Polish government, in June 2024 we should know what the draft law on civil defense contains. The act is to include provisions on civil protection. A special fund will also be created for the construction of shelters. Information on which patterns are worth using, what potential we currently have and where to look for places of refuge in various regions of Poland is presented below.

How to become a professional firefighter and how much can you earn?
The State Fire Service of Poland is one of the basic elements of building an efficient civil service that responds quickly to threats. Firefighters always have a lot of work. In May 2024, the media reported violent fires in the hall at the Marywilska street in Warsaw or in the attic of the school in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, during the final exams there. More garbage dumps and dozens of hectares of forests were on fire, with litter moisture dropping below 12-14% in many regions in mid-month. In addition, there are violent storms and downpours that paralyze cities, flooding viaducts and streets, breaking trees and tearing off roofs, which causes real threats to people in various regions of Poland. We remind those who want to serve in the fire brigade how to get into the State Fire Service and how much they can earn as a firefighter.
Places in shelters for the chosen ones – for the rest basements and dugouts
If an armed conflict were to occur, currently only 300,000 inhabitants can count on places in shelters in Poland. Maybe this will change in the future, but for now these are just declarations. Experience from Ukraine shows that shelters may be needed at any time, but we will not quickly make up for the effects of many years of neglect.
